Due to the COVID-19 shutdown, there have been no tests done for months. The wait time for a driving test is estimated to be 25 weeks, but which centres have the longest list?
Learner drivers waiting for tests in Dublin, Cork or Kildare could be facing the longest wait. There are currently 100,000 learner drivers waiting to sit their test nationwide.
New figures show Tallaght to be the most affected centre, alongside Finglas, where there is 7,500 people on the waiting list.
The top five test centres with the longest waiting time are;
- Dublin (Tallaght) – 10,449
- Dublin (Finglas) – 7,427
- Cork (Wilton) – 5,845
- Dublin (Dún Laoghaire/Desansgrange) – 5,603
- Kildare (Naas) – 4,945
The RSA has recently spoken about “pop-up” centres in geographic areas with the highest wait times to tackle the backlog.
